Frequently Asked Questions

Is Therapy right for me or Coaching? Whats the difference between the two?

This is a good question! Coaching is distinct from psychotherapy; it is goal-oriented and focused on growth, movement, and has a specific timeline. Therapy is generally more long term and heavily leans in to trauma processing. With coaching you generally have a level of stability in your life. While we will likely navigate the waters of trauma or grief; it is not the sole focus of our work together. If you are unsure whats best for you, reach out! We can figure it out together which would be the best fit for you.

I do offer a mixture of coaching and therapy for folks that might find both styles would support them.

As a note I am able to see you for therapy only if you live in Colorado US or outside the US per my licensing requirements. For coaching we can meet anywhere in the US and worldwide.

How much is the investment? Do you accept insurance?

I charge $160 for 53 minute or $270 for 90 minute individual therapy (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express). Sessions are self paid and then I provide a receipt of services after each session which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement for out of network providers. I do not accept health insurance.

My rates are reviewed and modified annually or biannually. Clients are notified of any change in fee at least 30 days prior to it taking effect..

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! Finding the right therapist can take some time, not everyone you meet will be a good fit for you. It is important to work with someone whom you feel comfortable with. I offer a free 15 minute face to face consultation online to see if this would be a good fit for you.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I offer a limited amount of sliding scale spots, please inquire regarding availability.

Where are your services located?

I offer sessions online for Colorado residents, those located in Europe and the UK through a secure HIPPA compliant video/audio platform. I offer groups in person for those in Berlin and the surrounding area. Before each session you have a new link emailed to you (or texted, per your choice) automatically for convenience of joining the session. This is convenient for those who want to meet online who have young children at home, prefer the comfort of their home, travel often, or want to stay connected even while on vacation.

What is your cancellation policy?

While you gain a lot from consistently attending sessions, things come up in life, so if you need to cancel a session that is completely okay. I need a 48 hour notice for this to give enough time for me to re-book with someone who may be on my waiting list. If you cancel with less than 48 hour notice, you will be charged for the appointment. In emergency situations, I may waive this policy, but this is up to my discretion.

What therapeutic modalities do you use in sessions?

I take an integrative approach to therapy utilizing Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Somatic Therapy, Attachment therapy, and mindfulness practices.

Good Faith Estimate

Notice to clients and prospective clients in the US:

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
